A significant number of our clients are serving executives who wish to take a NED role alongside the day job.
This structured and focused service is particularly useful for serving CEOs and CFOs who typically have very little time to devote to this project. It may languish for years, even with board encouragement and considerable interest on the part of the executive. It can be in effect outsourced to us in the knowledge that it will be concluded and the chances of gaining a role very significantly increased. During the process we inevitably consider how the non-executive and executive careers can strategically support and enable each other in the short and longer term, which often has the useful side effect of clarifying the executive direction of travel.
Help and guidance is given through a short series of intensive linked consultations, usually within weeks of each other, depending on diaries. These can be virtual. They typically vary between a minimum of two and a total of six. They may focus on the creation of a professional board CV to present the career to optimal advantage in a non-executive context; career strategy work to consider how to optimise both executive and non executive agendas over the short, mid and longer term, bearing in mind conflicts;!digital presence; marketing to launch or relaunch efficiently and comprehensively into the market; presentation; and bespoke analysis to identify appropriate upcoming NED roles in particularly relevant businesses. This service is likely to include personal referrals and introductions where relevant. All sessions are typically face to face and last two hours.
We are then available going forward as a sounding board or for further sessions as required, including for clients weighing up a range of non-executive opportunities or at the critical point of being shortlisted for a non-executive role and preparing for an interview process, often for the first time.
